What is the Outreach Service?

A service designed to support schools to help pupils with complex learning needs.

The aim of the West Suffolk Special Schools' Outreach Service is to improve outcomes for pupils with complex learning needs in mainstream schools by building capacity through facilitating training and resource development.

The Outreach Service is a collaboration between Suffolk County Council and three special schools in the western area of Suffolk. All three special schools share their expertise with each other through joint training and this expertise is now available to develop the support for pupils with complex learning needs in primary, middle and upper schools in Suffolk.

The Outreach Service will respond to a school’s request for additional training, or support in the development of resources, in order to build the school’s capacity to meet the needs of a pupil with complex learning difficulties.

See the information pages for more information about the focus of recent training, for links and downloads.
